Did You OverLook Blip.fm?

Blip LogoNowadays it seems as if every day some new type of miniature invention gets revealed which revolutionizes a certain niche of technology. With so many things hitting the news wire at all times, the developing theme with everyone is "how do you keep up with all this?" The truth is nobody does. Sure there are sites such as mashable.com and others that do a rather good job of covering all aspects of online technology, which innovations to watch out for, and how these innovations can and are influencing are lives but keeping up with with them is also like trying to read two books a day - it's just not happening.

Don't Let Your IT Department Hold You Back

Posted by wackedmarketer in TechnologyOpportunityITCompany

Before I get any hate letters, let me state that I'm an IT guy myself and I've been working on client and server based machines for many years now. I know the challenges that are posed by having to make things user friendly, but still keeping things running efficiently, safely and legitimately. I also understand though, that many "techy" type people don't always stay on top of their game. This is unacceptable. As IT people we must realize that our daily job is one that requires constant adaptation to the changing environment we work in.

Finally Branded

Posted by wackedmarketer in MarketingLogoGraphicDesignBranding

wackedmarketer

As I'm sure many of you know, running your own business isn't exactly a walk in the park. I didn't grow up thinking I'd ever run a business, nor did I really plan things out to the T, I simply slowly merged into this after working for too many people I thought had nothing more going for them, than I did.

Being a small business, getting by on fluctuating resources is often unpredictable and items such as graphics and other resources are extremely costly, so for me I've often made the decision not to spend top dollar on certain things, simply because a new logo or design, isn't going to get me more business. What it will do however, is help underline the character of my business, and hopefully it will also convey some of the power and force Wacked Marketing brings to the table. Whatever it's effect or purpose maybe, the fact is we're now branded. From now on, when see the red logo, you know the Pro's can't be far :)

Zoho Projects & Invoices - Two Great Online Business Tools

Posted by wackedmarketer in WebProjectonlineManagementBusinessAccounting

wackedmarketer

We're always out on the web, checking out what's new and not just so we can report on it. I personally I'm always on the lookout for great online business tools that I can incorporate into my daily routine. Too often I find myself in a position where I feel that the processes I'm using could be refined, or that a more efficient tool could help bridge the information gap with a client who's office I'm not working from.

Thanks to the great people at mashable.com, I read about a great suite of online business tools and a host of other very intuitive web based applications all under the parent name of "zoho". Zoho has applications such as "Zoho Projects" which I setup today, in order to organize my projects more efficiently. The great thing about Zoho Projects is that it really offers all the features one could ask for in a tool like that. I can create time sheets based on the work I'm performing, add tasks, custom task lists, and these task lists can be saved as templates to be used in other projects, saving a lot of time in terms of the setup and mainteance of the various projects you've got added.

Hootsuite for Multple Twitter Accounts

If you're like me, then you think very carefully what type of network you want to build on Twitter. I actually have two accounts, because I have two entirely separate areas of interest. One is concentrated on web development, blogging and other technical things more related to my company, the other profile pertains only to my activities as a dj and producer and the network I'm building there reflects this.

Mozilla Labs: Bespin

Posted by wackedmarketer in MozillaInternetHTMLEditor

Mozilla is working on a new project called "Bespin". According to their website it is

a Mozilla Labs experiment on how to build an extensible Web code editor using HTML 5 technology.

I just signed up to check it out and it seems pretty cool. If the code for this were released to the public, developers could have this technology and build their own coding servers that would be accessible remotely. I'll post more information on this when I've tried it out a bit more.

How To Batch Rename and Convert Images with Irfanview

Posted by wackedmarketer in IrfanviewimagesGraphicsConversionBatch

wackedmarketer

For some this may seem as one of the simpler tasks, however we constantly get asked by friends or others what to do with all their large digital pictures they took and we decided it was time to put an end to many people's struggles.

We took the time to carefully document every step of the way while trying to accomplish one thing: converting large digital pictures to a size more suitable for websites, or web galleries.
