As we've previously reported in this article, Zoho's online suite of applications is a very nice addition for small businesses like ours that are looking for cost effective and time efficient tools to help with their day to day operations.
After several months of using Zoho, in particular Zoho Projects and Zoho Invoices we've gotten accustomed to how things work and were extremely happy to see the recent upgrades to the system. Aside from the fact that layout has changed completed, the main dashboard now resembles that of a social networking site, with a twitter like time line on the first page.
Where Twitter is not the best communication tool for every environment, we feel that this type of functionality will play very nicely with most users. Which better way for people that are working on projects together than doing it via a twitter timeline? When the next person comes to login to the portal, they don't even have to do a whole lot of looking around, they can simply check the time line and see what various members of the project are up to.
The redesign of the dashboard, the twitter timeline and various other additions and modification in the suite have made this one of the better software upgrades we've seen. The changes are going to have a strong impact for users and are going to help keep Zoho competitive.
